This celebration invites participants to join in recognizing and honouring the cultural and spiritual significance of the turban, while also reaffirming our shared commitment to diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect within the community.

This event celebrates Vaisakhi, one of the most important festivals in Sikhism, commemorating the founding of the Khalsa in 1699.

Vaisakhi Jod Mela
Join the Community and Networking Team at ISSU for a special Akhand Path Sahib Bhog on April 13th at Gurdwara Khalsa Diwan. This event brings together international students, workers, and members of the Punjabi community in celebration and connection.
Following the Bhog, a delicious langar (community lunch) will be served, and families are warmly invited to stay for the Dastaar Mukabala — a joyful turban-tying competition for children that celebrates Sikh culture and identity.
