One Billion Rising

1 in 3 women across the planet will face domestic violence at some point in their life. That’s ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS. One Billion Rising is a global initiative, the purpose of which is to spread love to those who need it most. Every  February, the World Sikh Organization of Canada (WSO) partners with One Billion Rising and local partners to shine a light on the rampant injustice that survivors most often face.

Sikh Heritage Manitoba will be partnering with World Sikh Organization (WSO) to deliver Valentine’s Day gifts, essential care packages, treats, baked goods, and Valentine's Day cards to women and children in shelters here in Winnipeg for the fourth time. If you wish to donate, a gift bag is only $15 and it will go a long way in making someone feel loved and appreciated. A part of the funds raised will also be donated to the Sikh Family Helpline.
