Ardaas Protocols

 

  • Ardaas, meaning supplication, is an evolute of the community’s heart in the form of prayer over the centuries. Prayer and introspection are powerful ways to enter into a deeper state of consciousness that facilitates a sense of shared humanity in the form of community, resilience in the form of perseverance, and faith in the form of hope.

  • This Ardaas is done in the mood of thanksgiving as we inaugurate Sikh Heritage Month 2023, to express thanksgiving for resiliency in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, and to stand in solidarity with all people living as refugees displaced from their homes which includes but not limited to people of Ukraine, Syria, Venezuela, Afghanistan, South Sudan, Rohingya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Somalia, Central Sahel, Burundi, Iraq, Ethiopia, and Yemen.

  • The Sikh Ardaas is rendered to the Divine presence in a supplicatory mood while standing with a headcover. Traditional Ardaas is done with eyes closed, placing two hands together close to the heart but any reverential posture is welcomed.

  • When an individual or community is in a mood of thanksgiving or in distress. This is often done before beginning an important event as well as after the successful completion of an important event.

  • Ardaas can be done anywhere, privately or publically, as a community.

  • Any individual can do a private or communal prayer with the gathering that has assembled reverentially.

Hae Akaal-Purkh, Aapan-ae Panth dae sadaa sahaa-ee Dataar jeeo,Sree Nankaanaa Sahib tae hor Gurdvaareaan’, Gur'dhaamaan’ dae 

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੰਥ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਛੋੜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਖੁਲ੍ਹੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਖਸ਼ੋ।

ਹੇ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਣ, ਨਿਤਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਤਾਣ, ਨਿਓਟਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਓਟ, ਸੱਚੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਆਪ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਹੈ ਜੀ। ਜਿਹੜੇ  ਸਿੰਘ, ਭੁਝੰਗੀ ਅਤੇ  ਸਿੰਘਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਜ ਤਾਈਂ ਕੌਮ ਦੀ ਖਾਤਰ ਦੇਸ਼-ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋਏ, ਉਹਨਾਂ  ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਗਾਹ ਬਖਸ਼ਣੀ। ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਏਸ ਸੰਕਟਮਈ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਲ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਿਹਰ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਤੇ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਮੱਤ ਬਖਸ਼ਣੀ।  ਹੇ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਣ, ਨਿਤਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਤਾਣ, ਨਿਓਟਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਓਟ, ਸੱਚੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਆਪ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ…..ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਹੈ ਜੀ।

Aaj de is sankatmaye samae vich kul sarbat te apna mehar bhariya hath rakhna te sabna nun ik dusre di madad di takat and sumat bakshni ji.

ਅੱਖਰ ਵਾਧਾ ਘਾਟਾ ਭੁੱਲ ਚੁੱਕ ਮਾਫ ਕਰਨੀ। ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਰਾਸ ਕਰਨੇ।

Akharr daa vaadhaa ghaataa, bhull chukk maaf karnaa jee, sarbatt dae karaj raas karnae,

ਸੇਈ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੇਲ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਚਿਤ ਆਵੇ। ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲਾ, ਤੇਰੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ।
